COMPENSATION Our pay is competitive within the Santa Barbara area. The pay-rate is based on education and experience. This is a full-time position.
St. Mark Preschool is a year-round school centrally located with a large outdoor play space, in addition to our classrooms. The teachers and assistant teachers work with children ages 1-5 years old. We utilize beautiful outdoor space in addition to the classrooms. Our staff is educated and thoughtful. We have 8 teachers and 8 assistant teachers guiding the children. We serve 70 preschoolers and 12 toddlers. We currently have an opening for a full-time Lead Teacher and two Assistant Teachers, with a minimum of 12 ECE units and some childcare experience. If candidates have units or will commit to getting them we will consider your application.
JOB DESCRIPTION ● Provide quality care that meets children’s developmental needs. ● Supervise the children individually and in a group setting. ● Plan and carry out daily activities. ● Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions. ● Participate in Open Houses and other additional school functions. ● Pick up and clean supplies as needed, especially during Covid-19. ● Take part in daily light housekeeping duties. ● Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor with children, parents, and staff. ● Understand that hourly schedules are subject to change based on the needs of the school. ● Follow the bylaws, policies and procedures of the preschool, Community Care Licensing and California Department of Social Services. The children we serve are in the age range of 1 - 5 years old. We offer competitive hourly pay depending on experience and education.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree or A.A. • 12 ECE units minimum • A passion for children and life-long learning • Ability to develop positive and productive relationships with children, peers and families • A warm, friendly and helpful attitude, and flexibility •Strong collaboration and communication skills with parents and fellow teachers • CPR and First Aid certification • Must be able to pass DOJ fingerprint process, pre-employment physical and TB test • Documentation of immunizations also required
