OUR CLASSES
12 months to 18 months, 18 months to 2 years
The Dolphins & Sea Turtles Classes
The children actively engage with their teachers and peers. The teacher-child interactions are warm and stimulating. There is an eagerness to problem solve and experiment with cause and effect. There are two classes with 6-8 children, with a team of two teachers in each class.
2 year olds
Lady Bugs
This class takes learning a step further by encouraging problem solving while experimenting with a combination of independence and socialization, as parallel play moves to more interaction with peers. The focus is on communication and language development. They also have a chance to explore the big playground.
Two to three-year-olds
Butterflies Class
The children are introduced to the wonder of the world around them through opportunities of exploration. The open-ended nature of play with a variety of materials encourages the children to develop the skills they need in order to progress to the next level. There are two classes each with 10-12 children, one lead teacher and one assistant teacher.
Three to four-year-olds
Dragonfly and Grasshoppers Classes
These classes encourage the children’s cognitive and social skills. Each active morning provides the students with hands-on learning opportunities and spontaneous social interactions. Experiencing successful outcomes under the guiding hand of the teachers leads toward healthy self-esteem. There are two classes with 10-12 students in each class.
Four to five-year-olds (pre-kindergarten)
Busy Bees Class
We have one four-year-old class. This class fosters an atmosphere of cooperative learning. We reinforce the social skills already acquired and expand the learning skills necessary to successfully transition to kindergarten. We offer an informal screening to determine school readiness. School readiness is encouraged by social/emotional development as well as academic development There are 20 students in this class with two lead teachers.
Full Inclusion
We work closely with the Hope School District to implement our Inclusion Program. This is a highly respected special education program that is vital to the success of our local community. It also provides our school with extra staffing and experts in the areas of speech, language, physical, occupational, and behavioral therapy. We are excited to have such an outstanding resource in our school.
